NASCAR’s first trip to the Roval (half road course, half an hour ) is going to be at Charlotte this week and a lot is up for debate.
Can this race play similar to a road course like Watkins Glen with a number of wide open segments where motorists can pick up some pace, or can it perform more as an intermediate course where motorists Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick have mastered so frequently over the last two years?
The truth probably lies somewhere in the center, or possibly a little. BET Chicago says the Roval could play 33 percent like Charlotte Motor Speedway 33 percent just like Watkins Glen and another 33 percent like an intermediate course.
This really is a race where moving chalk is the best option, although that’s a lot to digest. Watkins Glen is loved by kyle Busch; he has success on tracks too and he’s coming from a win. If he’s not out ahead, he’s the favorite at 3/1 and will be stalking the chief.
